What we clear

Elite Jetwashing Services clears blocked and overflowing gutters on all kinds of property across Bolton, Greater Manchester and the North West:

  • Blocked and overflowing gutters full of leaves, silt and debris
  • Moss, weeds and self-seeded plants growing in the gutter run
  • Downpipes that are blocked or slow to drain
  • Gutters shedding roof moss and grit washed down from the tiles
  • Two-storey homes, bungalows, conservatories and extensions

How we do it

  1. Assessment. We check the height, the roofline and the access, then choose the safest way to clear each run.
  2. Clearing by hand. We clear the gutters by hand from safe, secure access, lifting leaves, silt and moss straight out of the run.
  3. Downpipes. We check and flush the downpipes and clear any blockages so the water actually drains away, not just off the edge of the gutter.
  4. Final check. We confirm the water is flowing freely through the whole system before we finish, and clear away any debris from the ground.

Why it matters

Blocked gutters are one of the most common causes of damp in Bolton homes. When leaves, moss and silt clog the run, rainwater has nowhere to go, so it pours over the edge and runs down the wall behind. Over time that constant soaking causes damp patches inside, staining and green streaks down the render, and rot in timber fascias and soffits. The weight of waterlogged debris can also drag gutters out of level or pull the joints apart until they leak and sag.

A gutter clear costs far less than putting right damp walls or rotten fascias. It’s tempting to blast a gutter out with a pressure washer, but jetting a full gutter usually just sprays the mess up the wall and forces water under the tiles. We lift the debris out by hand and save the pressure washing for driveways, patios and the other surfaces that can take it.

Gutter cleaning FAQ

The questions we get asked most about gutter cleaning in Bolton and Greater Manchester.

How much does gutter cleaning cost in Bolton?

There's no fixed price. Gutter cleaning is quoted per job because it depends on the size of the property, how many storeys, how blocked the gutters are and whether the downpipes need clearing too. Tell us your address or send a photo and we'll give you a rough estimate, then confirm a fixed price before any work begins. The estimate is free and there's no obligation.

Do you do gutter cleaning near me?

We're based in Bolton (BL1) and cover the BL postcodes and the wider North West. If you're searching for gutter cleaning or gutter clearing near you, send us your postcode and we'll confirm we cover your area and arrange a free quote.

Do you clear downpipes as well as the gutters?

Yes. Clearing the gutter is only half the job. If the downpipe is blocked the water still can't drain away. We check and flush the downpipes as part of the clean and clear any blockages we find, so the whole system runs freely again.

How do you reach high or hard-to-access gutters?

We look at the height, the roofline and the access before we start, then choose the safest way to reach each run. Where it's safe to do so, we clear the gutters by hand from secure access.

Can you get rid of moss and plants growing in my gutters?

Yes. Moss, weeds and even small self-seeded plants are common in Bolton's gutters, especially on shaded or tree-lined roads. We remove the growth and debris and clear the roots out of the run so the gutter drains freely again.

How often should gutters be cleaned?

For most homes once a year is enough, ideally in autumn once the leaves have dropped. Properties near trees, or with a lot of roof moss shedding into the gutters, may need clearing twice a year. If your gutters are already overflowing, don't wait. The sooner they're cleared, the less chance of damp getting into the walls.
