What we clean
Elite Jetwashing Services cleans and restores timber fencing of all kinds across Bolton and the North West:
- Feather-edge (close-board) and overlap panels
- Timber posts, gravel boards and rails
- Sun-bleached grey and weathered fencing
- Algae-covered lower panels and shaded, mouldy corners
- Fences with old, flaking stain that needs evening out before re-treatment
We aim for an even, clean colour across every panel, so if you re-treat afterwards the stain or oil goes on evenly instead of blotching over dirt and grey patches.
How we do it
- Assess the timber. We check the age, thickness and condition of the panels, look for splits and rot, and test a small out-of-sight section to see how the wood reacts. That tells us whether the fence can take controlled pressure or needs a gentler soft wash.
- Protect the surroundings. Borders, planting and anything at the base of the fence are covered or moved clear before we start.
- Soft wash the growth off. A timber-safe cleaning solution is soft-washed onto the panels to lift green algae, mould and any lichen from the grain.
- Wash it back. We lift the grey weathering, dirt and flaking old coating using soft washing on delicate panels and controlled pressure where the timber allows, working evenly across each panel so there are no patchy stripes.
- Rinse and finish. Everything is rinsed down, the area left tidy, and the fence handed back clean and even, dried out and ready for stain or oil if you want to re-treat.
Why it matters
Algae and mould on a fence do more than make the garden look tired. They trap moisture against the timber, which speeds up rot and shortens the life of the panels. Cleaning also matters if you plan to re-treat: stain and oil won’t hold on wood that’s damp, grey or coated in flaking old product. It blotches, peels and fails within a season. Blasting a fence with an uncontrolled jet wash isn’t the answer either, because a heavy pressure washer can splinter and furr up soft, weathered timber. That’s why we lead with a gentle soft wash and only use controlled pressure where the panels can take it.
