What we clean

Elite Jetwashing Services cleans the whole roofline: the uPVC boards that run around the top of your walls, just under the roof. Across Bolton and the North West we cover:

  • White and coloured uPVC fascias, the upright boards the gutters are fixed to
  • Soffits, the underside boards where green algae builds up
  • The roofline trims, edges and joints where grime collects
  • Cobwebs, nests and general debris tucked into the boards
  • Black streaks and “tiger striping” under the gutters

How we do it

  1. Look and assess. We check the length of roofline, the height and access, and how much algae, streaking and grime has built up, then choose the right approach for the uPVC.
  2. Soft wash the boards. A low-pressure cleaning solution is applied to break down green algae, black streaks and pollution, with no aggressive jet washing that could force water behind the boards.
  3. Agitate the stubborn spots. Where black streaks and grime have really baked on, we work them gently by hand so the uPVC comes back clean rather than smeared.
  4. Rinse down. Everything is rinsed with controlled pressure and clean water, leaving the fascias and soffits streak-free with no residue.

Why it matters

The roofline is one of the first things people notice, and it’s usually the part that ages a house fastest. Once white uPVC greens up and the black streaks appear under the gutters, even a freshly cleaned drive or render can still look tired. Beyond looks, letting algae and grime sit on soffits and around joints keeps the boards damp and grubby, and it tends to spread onto the walls below.

It’s tempting to reach for a pressure washer and blast it all off, but high-pressure power washing on the roofline can scratch the uPVC, force water up behind the boards and into the soffit voids, and even loosen trims. That’s why we soft wash the roofline instead. Low pressure and the right solution get white uPVC properly clean and clear the algae without risking the boards. It’s the same approach we use on render cleaning and roof cleaning.

Fascia & soffit cleaning FAQ

The questions we get asked most about fascia & soffit cleaning in Bolton and Greater Manchester.

Is fascia and soffit cleaning safe for uPVC?

Yes. We soft wash the roofline rather than blasting it: low pressure and a gentle cleaning solution lift the green algae, black streaks and grime without scratching, dulling or cracking the uPVC. High-pressure jet washing can force water behind the boards, so we keep the pressure low and let the solution do the work.

Can you get white uPVC fascias looking white again?

In most cases, yes. The green tinge and grey grime on tired white fascias is usually surface algae and pollution rather than permanent staining, so soft washing brings the original white back. Very old, oxidised or discoloured boards may not return fully white, so we'll be honest about what's cleanable when we look at photos.

What causes the black streaks under my gutters?

Those black streaks, often called 'tiger striping', are a mix of algae, dirt and pollution washed down over the gutter lip and dried onto the fascia. They build up faster on shaded, north-facing runs. We treat and rinse them as part of the fascia and soffit clean rather than just wiping the surface.

Do you clean the gutters as well?

Fascia and soffit cleaning covers the outside faces of the roofline; clearing the inside of the gutters of moss, leaves and debris is our separate gutter clearing service. Most people book the two together so the whole roofline is sorted in one visit. Just ask and we'll quote for both.

How much does fascia and soffit cleaning cost in Bolton?

There's no fixed price list. Every job is quoted on the length of roofline, the height and access, and how much algae and streaking there is. Send a few photos of the front and back of the house and we'll give you a rough estimate, then confirm a fixed price in writing before any work starts.
